STIG Update – Draft IBM z/VM STIG Ver 1


DISA has developed the Draft IBM z/VM STIG Version 1 for review. This draft STIG contains security requirements to IBM z/VM systems using Computer Associate’s VM:Secure for security management. Please submit comments, recommended changes, and/or additions to the draft STIG by 21 Sep 2017 on the Comment Matrix spreadsheet, located with the STIG at https://iase.disa.mil/stigs/os/mainframe/Pages/zvm.aspx. Comments should be sent via email to disa.stig_spt@mail.mil. Please include the title and version of the STIG in the subject line of your email.

Job Description:

  • Minimum 5 years of administration, installation and troubleshooting experience in an enterprise environment for IBM IAM solution.
  • Experience is required in one or more of the following areas: Identity Management, Access Management and Role Based Access Control.
  • Strong understanding of IBM Security Identity Management (SIM) and Security Access Management (SAM) architecture and components.
  • Experience of installing and configuring IBM IAM solution components.
  • Knowledge of IBM SIM and SAM prerequisite software: Web Sphere Application Server, WebSEAL, Message Queues, DB2, Tivoli Directory Integrator, Tivoli Directory Server, Adapter development tool etc.
  • Experience of basic installation and updates of the prerequisite databases and LDAP directory servers.
  • Proficient in creating and modifying workflows for implementing business flows.
  • Understanding of custom changes to SIM and SAM.
  • Experience in performance tuning and problem determination for IBM IAM solution.
  • Preferable certification on SIM and/or SAM from IBM.
  • Good knowledge of best practices in SIM and SAM systems design and maintenance.
  • Experience on various incident management systems and ticketing tools.
  • Experience in using IBM DataPower and knowledge of web services security.
  • Knowledge of basic security concepts (encryption using keys, SSL, HTTPS).
  • Understanding of basic system architecture design.
  • Mentor other development team members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Monitor incoming event queues for potential security incidents
·         Identify and act on anomalous network activity.
·         Perform hunting for malicious network activity.
·         Perform initial investigation and triage for potential security incidents.
·         Provide accurate & priority driven analysis on cyber activity/threats.
·         Perform payload analysis of packets.
·         Detonate malware to assist with threat research.
·         Resolve or coordinate the resolution (escalate) of cyber security events.
·         Create, manage, and dispatch incident tickets.
·         Monitor external event sources for security intelligence and actionable incidents.
·         Maintain shift logs with relevant activity.
·         Document investigation results, ensuring relevant details are passed to senior analysts and stakeholders.
·         Participate in root cause analysis or lessons learned sessions.
·         Write technical articles for knowledge sharing.
·         Establish and maintain excellent working relationships/partnerships with the cyber security and infrastructure support teams throughout the Information Technology organization, as well as business unit operation centers.
·         Must comply with any regulatory requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
·         A formal education in Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent experience in IT Security related roles is required.
·         Experience with database monitoring security products like IBM Guardium preferred.
·         Fundamental knowledge of IT core infrastructure and cyber security components//devices preferred.
·         Minimum 1 year experience with TCP/IP Networking and knowledge of the OSI model preferred.
·         Minimum 1 year experience with OS management and Network Devices preferred.
·         Minimum 1 year experience with Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems preferred.
·         Minimum 1 year experience with Antivirus Systems preferred.
·         Minimum 1 year experience monitoring threats via a SIEM console preferred.
·         1+ years performing analysis of log files from a variety of sources, to include individual host logs, network traffic logs, firewall logs, or intrusion prevention logs.
·         Formal IT Security/Network Certification such as CompTIA Security +, Cisco CCNA, SANS GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), InfoSphere Guardium preferred.
·         Experience with packet analysis (Wireshark) and Malware analysis a plus.
·         Experience working in a Security Operations Center environment is a plus.
·         Client ArcSight experience is a plus.

Position: McAfee Engineer

Client:  IBM

Build McAfee agents (AV, etc) for Windows 2012 Servers.

– Complete the certification of McAfee Security Products for Network Area Storage (NAS) with NetApp.

– Test the latest version of the McAfee Security suite

– Create the test plans, implementation plans, backout plans and shakeout plans.

– Document the test results along with screenshots.

– Capture issues, risks and remediation items.

– Upgrade/Implement the McAfee Security suite.

– Work on building the McAfee security image that can be used for NetApp for NAS.

– Help trouble shooting the Windows 2012 Server build , NetApp build, etc.

– Help with testing, documentation, and rollout of McAfee’s latest versions and patches.

– Provide updates and status to the manager on an ongoing basis.

– Complete adhoc tasks and activities requested by the manager to support the projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5  years of McAfee ePO and Security suite engineering or administration.

Experience rolling out McAfee Security suite for 25K   endpoints.

Experience rolling out McAfee Security products to Windows 2012 Servers. 5  years of experience working with Desktop Security and related products.

5  years of overall IT security experience.

Experience with sketching out network diagrams using Visio or other tools CISSP certification is preferred

Security Administrator
Responsibilities
Systems administration support for IBM Security Identity Environment (ISIM / ISDI / ISDS).
Installing, updating and configuring ISIM application adaptors. Development of policies, internal security, workflow and forms within ISIM.
Supporting project teams for integrations into the Honda security environment. Investigate operational problems and develop counter measure for remediation.
Perform upgrades and apply patches to IBM Security software. Monitor the environment for effective operations.MUSTS
IBM Security Identity Manager administration, design and support. IBM Security Directory Integrator – Including the ability write complicated assembly lines from scratch and maintain an existing code base.
Experience with IBM Security Directory Server – including the ability to install from scratch, setup replication, manage issues and develop complex
queries and reports.
Strong understanding of Identity Managements architecture concepts and best practices.
Strong technical skills with UNIX. – This means you need to be comfortable with UNIX and can easily ssh into servers, use vi and other common UNIX tools.
Strong Javascript development skills – This means you should have no problem writing custom operations in ISIM and maintaining an existing javascript code base in ISIM
Must have broad range of understanding with different technical platforms (servers, networks, storage, etc.)
Must be able to work individually as well as in a team. Self-starter, must be able to see projects and tasks from start to completion.
Must have strong written and verbal communications skills. You will be required to work with project teams and end users in person, on the phone and in writing.

WANTS
Experience with IBM Security Access Manager administration, design and support. Experience with web application design and a strong understanding of the
HTTP protocol and reverse proxy systems. Experience with J2EE, C# or other language development Basic SQL and reporting skills – You should be able to write simple SQL queries and work with reporting software to generate and manage reports.
